MAKERS

The suppliers we work with are numerous and come from all over Italy.
What do they have in common? The commitment to the environment, people, and the community.

The partners who support the Company are an integral part of the Miscusi family

Miscusi regards supplier involvement as essential for sustainable products and corporate policies, creating a true family of around forty Italian suppliers. Each Miscusi recipe celebrates Mediterranean diversity, thanks to the collaborative work with its partners, who daily produce the raw ingredients. The suppliers are an integral part of the Miscusi family, engaged in a long journey of growth and experimentation.

Miscusi Pasta Supply Chain

Traceability is certainly crucial in the food world and beyond, though objective difficulties remain for the end consumer to know and understand the characteristics of the ingredients they purchase.
Miscusi provides its customers with complete transparency about the provenance of its ingredients, recognizing the importance of valuing the product first and the producer second. In particular, regarding its signature product: pasta, the means by which to bring to the world the values of the Mediterranean Diet, as a promise of an inclusive, respectful of diversity, positive and forward-looking lifestyle.
In doing so, the choice is to offer ingredients with distinctive nutritional qualities, from flours to the individual products used in dressings, in synergy with Research and Development and the careful selection of the actors involved – fundamental pieces of our value chain. The Company directly engages with the individual farming suppliers of the harvest to build deep ties with entities capable of representing Miscusi's values. Our suppliers include a range of qualities: 100% organic farming, Italian producers who are rooted in and tied to their territory and who safeguard it, and low-impact agricultural techniques.
Full traceability allows the Company to be fully accountable for its environmental impact. In particular, thanks to the collaboration of 90% of our suppliers with the Quantis team, yearly CO2 emissions from Miscusi's land use are calculated. Through the completion of a dedicated questionnaire, an assessment of Miscusi's environmental performance relative to the Italian average producer is carried out. The results show that, overall, the crops used for pasta, especially legumes, average an 80% reduction in emissions per kg produced, a result greatly aided by low-input farming practices — minimal fertilizers and pesticides, reduced irrigation, etc.— and only a limited reduction in yield.

Supplier Due Diligence

Thinking of a family means defining long-term goals and building relationships based on dialogue and trust. For this reason, through a crucial Due Diligence process, Miscusi commits to selecting and maintaining partners who share its values, embodying them every day through their work. This is an annual screening of individual suppliers, who are evaluated through in-depth questionnaires aimed at identifying the most worthy collaborators and any gaps in the supply chain, in order to consolidate relationships and steer them toward common objectives.

Future partnership

Miscusi is planning collaborations for 2024 with several organizations to monitor its environmental impact more accurately and promptly. The partnerships Miscusi plans to complete in 2024 are:
• xFarm
xFarm already tracks more than 300,000 farms on behalf of leading players in the agri-food market, with a strong presence in Italy.
• Klimato
Klimato is already a partner of more than 500 companies in the tourism and restaurant sector. Thanks to their service, meals provided have CO2 emissions reduced by an average of 23%.
• Quantis
Miscusi's objective is to renew the partnership with the Quantis team, to carry out a full Life Cycle Assessment of its products, always with the aim of improving the techniques for calculating its environmental impact.
