How We Met

To truly be pasta lovers, you have to be curious about all kinds of flour. Not only because breaking free from a 'pre-packaged diet' is beneficial for our bodies, but also because the environment needs to protect biodiversity to ensure global well-being. It’s no coincidence that the Mediterranean Diet is among the most sustainable: legumes and alternative cereals are essential elements of this culinary tradition.
When we decided to use flours other than durum wheat semolina, we realized we needed a trusted partner. We were looking for someone who not only produced specialty flours in Italy, but who had also invested in technology to be 100% sustainable. That's where MartinoRossi came into the picture.

A commitment to quality and sustainability

MartinoRossi is not just a flour producer, but a group that firmly believes in its farmers. With over 500 farmers spread across Italy, MartinoRossi has agreed with them on very high quality standards, offering ongoing support thanks to on-site agronomists who continually update them on the best agricultural practices. This commitment not only guarantees superior quality, but also introduces new techniques that respect and protect the environment.
Moreover, MartinoRossi is actively committed to sustainability, with agricultural techniques that exclude the use of GMOs and reduce the use of phytonutrients thanks to the innovative subirrigation. This system allows saving 80% of water per crop, a significant result in sustainable agriculture. Additionally, the company uses drones to introduce antagonistic species that combat pests, drastically reducing the need for pesticides.

What we love about them

MartinoRossi is a perfect example of how sustainability and quality can coexist harmoniously. What we particularly value about them is the full traceability of the supply chain, which guarantees constant monitoring of raw materials, supported by on-site agronomists. Moreover, thanks to careful crop selection, they save 80% of water annually, an impressive achievement in sustainability. Their environmental commitment is also reflected in reduced use of fertilizers, with a 50% reduction compared to traditional standards. Finally, MartinoRossi has undertaken a reforestation project in Colombia, planting trees to offset their annual CO2 emissions, demonstrating their concrete commitment to environmental sustainability.

Our commitment to reducing environmental impact doesn't stop at farming methods, but extends to logistics as well. For every vehicle used, MartinoRossi plants two trees in the Colombian Amazon, offsetting the CO2 emissions generated during deliveries. This reforestation project actively contributes to the fight against climate change, demonstrating how every aspect of production can be made sustainable.
